1866 Good Samaritan Hospital opens in downtown Cincinnati.

1895 X-rays discovered.

1915 Good Samaritan Hospital moves to its current Dixmyth location in Clifton.

1931 Good Samaritan contracts its first full-time Radiologist, Dr. Justin McCarthy.

1934 The American Board of Radiology is created.

1950 Medical Nuclear Medicine begins.

1954 Second Radiologist, Dr. Roland Wintzinger, starts at Good Sam.

1963 Medical Ultrasound invented.

1965 Third Radiologist, Dr. Richard Mulvey, starts at Good Sam.

1965 Medicare program invented and begins paying Radiologists directly.

1967 Medical X-ray, Inc. corporation is formed originally called “McCarthy, Wintzinger, and Mulvey, Inc.”

1967 Fourth Radiologist, Dr. Donald Gunderson, joins group.

1968 Fifth Radiologist, Dr. Eugene McCarthy, joins group.

1972 Computed Tomography invented.

1974 Dr. William Chang, with subspecialty training in Pediatric Radiology, joins group.

1975 Group Health Associates is created and awards Radiology contract to MXI.

1975 Dr. Justin McCarthy retires.

1975 Dr. Barry Blum joins group.

1977 Dr. Terry Frey joins group.

1977 Medical MRI invented.

1981 Dr. Elizabeth Alexander, with subspecialty training in Body Imaging and Interventional, joins group.

1983 MXI subcontracts University Neuroradiological Organization to cover Neuroradiology including MRI.

1985 MXI begins coverage at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, IN.

1989 MXI quits Batesville.

1993 Dr. Timothy Miller, with subspecialty training in Neuroradiology, joins group.

1994 Dr. James Meranus, with special interest in Musculoskeletal Radiology and MRI, joins group.

1994 Dr. Chuck McConnell, with subspecialty training in Neuroradiology, joins group.

1995 Dr. Don Gunderson retires.

1995 TriHealth opens Glenway Medical Office Building and contracts MXI.

1995 Nydic Open MRI opens and awards radiology contract to MXI.

1996 Dr. Roland Wintzinger retires.

1996 Dr. Frank Schlueter, with subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology, joins group.

1997 UNO voluntarily leaves Good Samaritan Hospital.

1998 PET invented.

1999 Dr. Gene McCarthy retires.

2000 Dr. David Huelsman joins group.

2001 Glenway Open-sided MRI Outpatient opens and contracts MXI for MRI interpretations.

2002 Dr. Angie Beckes joins group.

2003 Beacon Orthopedic Imaging is formed and contracts MXI for MRI interpretations.

2003 Dr. Galen Chun joins group.

2005 Good Samaritan Radiology PACs system goes live.

2005 TriHealth buys Group Health Associates.

2005 MXI subcontracts Diagna Radiology for after-hours teleradiology coverage.

2005 Dr. Kim Draud, with subspecialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology, joins group.

2006 Neurospine Institute in Eugene, Oregon opens and contracts MXI for radiology services.

2006 Good Samaritan Radiology Department moves to newly renovated Fifth floor location.

2007 Evendale Imaging Center opens and awards radiology contract to MXI.

2007 Dr. Bill Chang retires.

2007 Dr. Steve Kruis joins group.

2007 Dr. Chuck Herfel joins group.

2009 Good Sam completes major Emergency Department renovation.

2009 Dr. Barry Blum retires.

2009 Dr. Mike Kreeger, with subspecialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology, joins group.

2010 Trihealth opens Western Ridge Emergency and outpatient facility.

2011 TriHealth begins construction of a new GHA building on the Good Sam Hospital campus.
